What is a construction contractor?

In general term contractors or sub-contractors are those construction professional that performs some task in a construction project. They can be part of a company or can be working as individuals.

The Contractors are coordinated by a general contractor who is responsible for meeting up the deadline and budget of a construction project. 1- Excavator

Excavators dig the land with heavy machinery to lay the foundation for the house, building, or parking lot (or whatever) they are building.

2- Mason

Masons are responsible for laying bricks, blocks, stones in mortar to build walls, ceilings, and pillars of the structure they are working on. They also carry and lift those bricks and blocks they use to make the structure, therefore it’s quite a laborious task that demands physical fitness and strength. Masons also do the titles, stonework, and plastering where ever it is required in the construction.

3- Plumber

Plumbers do the piping of the construction project for water supply, sewerage, and gas. They also do the maintenance of those pipes when needed. Plumbers install and replace fixtures of bathroom and kitchen such as toilet, sink, bathtub, dishwasher, washing machines, etc.

4- Electrician

They install and repair electrical wiring for the electricity supply of the building. Also, add electrical fixtures like lights and fans.

5- Carpenter

All the woodwork is done by carpenters, they may specialize in different takes. But they are the ones who make and installing cabinets, cupboards, shelves, doors, floors (if have wooden floor) etc. They also perform tasks like framework and crown molding.

6- Heating and Air-Conditioning (HVAC)

HVAC includes the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system, the HVAC contractors are responsible for installing the HVAC system and making it work. They also repair any problem in the HVAC system and installs & replace fixtures for HVAC.

7- Painter

We all know that painters paint the indoor, outdoor walls and prepare the surface for finishing before the paint. Some painters specialize in polish and coloring woodwork and wooden furniture.

For adding greenery in and around the building project landscapers provide services. They make your front yard and back yard into a garden. They add plants, grow or lay grass and also maintains them. Maybe not in the apartments but the green areas around apartments and golf courses, nurseries, and greenhouses (mostly in mansions) are done by landscapers.
